Can a cracked air intake cause my 04 durango to run rich?

I have a 200 4 durango and it is running rich which i cant have since i have a 10
month old son. I took it to the shop and they said i have a cracked intake. Will
that cause my truck to run rich?

A uncontrolled air leak could make it run lean but I suppose if it screwed with the ECU it could run rich.

I’d my truck is running rich could it cause problems with it starting? Most of the time it starts right up but there are times where it sputters then shuts off.
