My jeep cherokee 3.7 V6 won't go on reverse it only
goes forward.  It's an automatic.

Sounds like you have an transmission problem

    My 98 jeep Cherokee had reverse but not drive. Sat for few months now it drives fine but when u put it in reverse it moves an inch and thats it.
