What is a VE pump?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Theres this part banded to the side of the overflow resevoir with an electrical
plug and 2 ( heater ) hoses that connect to a piece by  the firewall. Its a Bosch
part # PA 666 F30 when i entered this # on the bosch site it said its a VE
pump. What is it and what does it do? Icant find  any info on  it anywhere. Im
stumped someone said it connects to the heater core???

Why do you want to bypass it? Is it leaking? Probably could remove it and connect the hoses together.
