Starting problems

I replaced my starter on the car but when i try n
start it it makes a humming nosie and the starter
don't engage. What is my problem

I would start with going over all your connections first, make sure they are all clean and tight.Possible a bad connection when starter was reinstalled....did you replace it with a brand new starter or a rebuilt starter? if all you connections are clean and tight possible you got a bad starter....hope this helps
