Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I habe a 99 tahoe 4x4 5.7 vortex with starting
problems. If i drive it evryday like i do normally it will
start fine and crank on a dime. But if i dont drive it for
a day it will not crank on a dime i have to keep turning
the key and it will sound like its trying to roll over but
it takes loke 15 mins to get it to actually run. Any
ideas?

My ‘02 suburban needed a fuel pump. Would run and start fine unless it sat. Rented a fuel pressure tester (for free) and discovered low fuel pressure and a pulsation of the actual pressure. Also noticed a bleed down of the pressure when off. Again, it was hard to start after sitting but ran fine. Replaced tank mounted fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel pressure regulator. Dealer wanted $900 for pump replacement alone. Did all 3 myself for about $225. Don’t get a cheap pump (amazon) or you’ll be back in there very soon.
