Hyundai sonata stuck in neutral ?

Goodmorning all, I️ have a 2012 hyundai sonata and
it got stuck in neutral while trying to reverse into an
inclined parking garage, The gear shift went all the
way to reverse but the light on the shift says neutral
and on my car dash as well. I️ have already tried the
shift lock release and it does nothing to solve my
issue.

Did you ever find out what it was my 2012 sonata is doing the same thing
