2012 Hyundai Sonata acceleration issues

Asked by GuruQHVYY Nov 18, 2019 at 07:56 PM about the 2012 Hyundai Sonata Limited FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Hyundai has 190,000 miles on it. New
engine replaced under recall at 170,000 miles.
It has started to randomly lose gas pedal
pressure as I am driving down the road. If I let
off of the pedal and press again it comes
back. I have no check engine lights or other
issues. No idea how to diagnose without a
check up engine light.

I had the exact same thing on my Honda CR-V. I was told by a kid at Auto Zone that it's probably due to dirty oil, or oil that isn't the right type or both. He was right. I got the oil changed and the problem went away,

I have the same issue. Idk what it is. I have had it check out several times, changed the oil and all that good stuff it still does it randomly… Like when I’m driving it’s like I hit the brakes & when I’m pulling out into traffic.
