Can't remove old coolant sensor on my 2000 Toyota Solara

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have purchased a new coolant sensor, seems easy enough, but can't depress tab to release old sensor.  Any suggestions.

can you depress it with needle nose plyers

Did attempt to do that, but there are is a hose in direct way of it. Can attempt that again. Once it is depressed, just pull up?

The connetor maybe corroded, It might may a good idea to presoak the connctor with some kind of lubricant overnight.
