Rowefast, I cannot find any evidence of required valve adjustments on these cars. There was a required valve adjustment on old air cooled VW Beetles. See this below, maybe I'm wrong, can you please cite your sources. This is interesting, see this http://repairpal.com/valve-adjustment-577

I see your point there Mr. Markw. Its like a lot of Fords, just tighten the rocker arm down to the proper torque. Then its up to the lifter to do its job.

Is valve adjustements the same as valve clearance? Sorry I am new to this stuff. I just took my 2006 passat to head engineers and they told me I need valve lapping and clearance.
