2003 passat wagon

2003 passat wagon want go over 2 rpm I change the
transmission fluid put a new valve cover gasket in it and I'm
still not getting no power when I go in Drive what do you
think it is I pulled up the carpet on the passenger side and
inside the black box was not wet but up under the carpet it
was a little bit what can I do an easy fix to get my RPMs
back up and running
