Won't work when steering column gets hot

When I park my 2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible JXi in the sun, the following items quit working:  a/c (fan blows but, no cooling), door locks, top, speedometer, odometer, gas gauge, tachometer, wipers, travel computer (shows Ccd), door ajar alarm. I've had a new ignition switch installed but that didn't help.

Very strange, how about getting a steering wheel cover and cover when you leave the car in the sun..
