Mercedes Benz weird sounds/ issues

Asked by Heidirosnow Nov 20, 2020 at 06:43 AM about the 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 300 Luxury 4MATIC

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello,
When I start my car it makes this loud squealing
noise almost like a power drill. And sometimes it
takes my car two times to actually start up. Even
when I drive my car, it sounds more of an electric
car than before, it used to be quieter when I would
drive around. Does anyone know what this could
be? And how much?

I can guess maybe one of your serpentine belt pulley bearings has failed or close to it. I would have the noisy pulley replaced before you are stranded somewhere. The repair will be a couple hundred if you have a mechanic do the work. They will want to replace the Serpentine belt at the same time.
