2004 Mercedes benz c240 transmission

Asked by Richard Jul 08, 2018 at 03:53 PM about the 2004 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 240 Classic Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently put AMG wheels on my 2004 Mercedes
Benz c240 which originally comes with size 16
wheels. The AMG wheels that I put on are 18x8.5 in
the front and 9.5 rear. Now the transmission shifts
hard past 2nd and on third it’s a hard shift also but
followed by a strange grinding noise that’s fades as
it shifts up to the next gear. Please help me it’s been
my project car for 2 years now and it was pasted
down to me as a graduation gift.

My rear is 18x9.5 and my front is 18x8.5 so they’re only wider on the rear but the car was oringially on 16” all around and no it’s just rwd
