I'm looking at what appears to be a well cared for 2008 VW Passat Turbo Wagon and wonder what the average life span of the car is expected to be? What should I look/ask for before purchasing?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can you run regular gas or does it require premium?
At what intervals should the timing belt be changed?

I'd look maintenance record supporting usage of the correct specification of oil. Most likely a dealership or VW specialty repair shop, or if the owner seems to know what you're talking about without saying "yeah, I always used synthetic" because that is not the sole requirement.

Germany is generally a cold climate so oils like 0W-40 are specified. If you live in Las Vegas,a 5W or 10W-40 is OK because of the greater heat and use of the AC.
