Too much brake

Brakes will suddenly  go on but I'm not doing it! Sometimes from a stop you
just can't move forward unless you give a lot of gas. Will hear a crunching
sound. Also cannot go into drive or reverse. ABS and ESP lights come on.
Then the car will run fine for awhile, lights will go off.  Then it'll happen again.

Would start by scanning the codes. In the meantime you should inspect the condition of the brake assemblies. for wear, pads etc.
