Can I tell if it bent valves without pulling heads

I'm helping a friend who has a 2003 Volkswagen passat
with 2.8 Audi 30 v engine in it.  Timeinf belt blew while
driving.   Can I tell if it bent valves without pulling the
heads.

If you install a new timing belt you could do a compression test.

Ok so are these motors prone to bending valves. Or is there a good chance that she is lucky just asking
