Yours the 2.4L? What happened to it? Timing belt break and you bent some valves? That price seems a little high to me. How many miles on the replacement engine? Are they going to give you a written warranty on engine and labor?

it is a little high if it doesn't cover the used engine. but if it does cover the engine and if you want it done right. I believe it's a fair price depending on the mileage. because if you get a good used engine for around 900 buy the oil filter, oil, and coolant the person putting it in is only making around 450. pulling an engine and putting one in is not a piece of cake.
