The knock sensor is located below the intake manifold and is a rather involved process to change. Here is the procedure to backprobe the knock sensor. By backprobing you leave the connector together and check voltages. The knock sensor uses A/C voltage. Use an A/C voltmeter and connect positive lead to the knock sensor signal wire and the negative lead to sensor ground. Run the engine the signal should increase as the engine rpm increases. If not knock sensor is bad.
