Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2011 Kia Rio LX.  I replaced the alternator {used}
and the battery{new}. The battery still drains,  the
rpm meter/gauge went to zero, the radio went off,
the battery indicator and brake light comes on and
speedometer went off.  Eventually the engine shut
off.  New battery is on the charger,  what do I do?
Please help.

Drains when running or overnight? If while running, you need to load test wires to and from battery, starter and alternator and grounds. Everything have tight clean corrosion free connections? Are you sure that used alternator is really in spec?
