Switch out flex fuel engine

My truck F150 King Ranch is a flex fuel. The timing chains need replaced so
I am just getting a new engine. The truck is a flex fuel  5.4L V8.  No one can
seem to find a reasonable priced replacement flex fuel engine. One guy
found a gasoline engine and said all that would be needed is to change the
intake. I think this is a bad idea but I don't know enough about engines to
determine if these is feasible or not.

Why not replace the timing chains? Engine swaps are a minefield of problems plus there are two different versions of the Triton which further complicates things.
