Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 deville. Jumped it yesterday and it started, today just the check
engine light comes on. Brand new battery. Wont crank. What could be the
problem?

Wouldn't know until some testing has ben done. First check with a digital multi meter the DCV at the battery to see what it is. Should be 12.5 to 12.7 DCV or else the battery is low. Another thing to check is the shape of the battery cables. Make sure they are clean and tight, especially the ground cable on both ends. If all is good there then you have the stater checked.
