Dead battery key stuck in ignition

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was laid up for a month and when I went to
start my car obviously the battery was dead
and plus now my keys are stuck in the
ignition.  What do I do?!!

First, look for an emergency release just below the ignition lock. If there isn't one you'll need to hook up jumper cables or a jump box to the battery terminals to energize the solenoid to release the key. Hope that helps! Jim

My Equinox’s battery also died due to age, so I had the same problem, after I hooked up a capacitor type jump box on the battery everything started working as it should. Still has to replace the battery.

Turn the steering wheel one way or the other and see if you can get them out
