Why is the vehicle in limp mode because of getting wet?

Smashed the windshield out set out in
the rain now and reduced power mode.

Electronics are not happy when they are wet. Maybe drying the car out will return things to normal but if they do not you will have expensive repairs.

When a vehicle like this starts having electrical problems it's a neverending rabbit hole! Especially when everything inside the dash has gotten wet! In my opinion it's not worth fixing! Junk it and move on! Hope that helps! Jim
