fuel door wont lock

this pin that locks my fuel door wont come out when I push the door closed when I lock my doors with my key it will come out but oce one of the doors are unlocked it opens again

I have had no luck finding an answer for this particular problem on any forums. I think mine is the same: if I hold the door closed and lock the car it locks but as soon as I unlock the car it pops open again. I'm going to have my mechanic look at it today and if he figures it out I'll tell you what he said.
