I have a 2011 Ford Taurus SEL and my cooling fans
have not been acting right so I done some digging
around and under the hood I found fuse box and
noticed that fuse number 28 which controls the
cooling fans is missing I don't know where to find this
fuse or if one is even supposed to be there it says it's
a 80 amp if anyone can help me out I appreciate it
Some of these went through a fan controller computer, have you done a live data scan?
fuse 28 is for the cooling fan in SHO model cars only. If your car isn't an SHO, the position should remain empty..... There's a lot that can cause engine and AC cooling fans to work improperly. You should have the system checked by a pro.... You have two fans: the cooling fan for the radiator and the fan that cools the AC condenser. If it's the condenser fan, the Ac will run and stop cyclically as the unit overheats. If it's the radiator fan, there are several possibilities for what's actually wrong. First, run the AC and see if the radiator fan runs: it's supposed to run with the AC by default. If it doesn't run, you likely have a low level of refrigerant in the system or a faulty switch or a sensor, or a bad fan motor, fuse, relay, or a wiring problem. If the fan runs, you probably have a defective engine coolant temperature sensor or temperature switch.
