2011 cayenne turbo - what folks think?

Asked by Langley Feb 25, 2010 at 05:23 PM about the 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo AWD

Question type: General

What do you all think of the new cayeen turbo? The exterior design seems quite a bit nicer. Wonder how the 8 speed triptronic will perform?

1 Answer

I wasn't a huge fan of the first generation. Not bad looking, but not great either. I think the front of the new one looks better but the biggest improvement is definitely the rear. The back looks 100 times better than the current gen (also looking very Audi Q5-ish, which is fine). As for the 8-speed transmission I'm not really sure what the advantage is? Fuel econ? More power to the lower gears? The Lexus LS460 has an 8 speed transmission and doesn't get better fuel econ. Not sold on it yet.
