When working on the starter, most mechanics will disconnect the battery to avoid accidental shorts and start ups. This disconnect will erase the engine computer's memory and it will take time for it to "relearn" idle speed, shift points and stuff like that. If in a few drive cycles it still acts up, call the mechanic and ask for help. Maybe have him scan codes for free to see if something got bumped loose or left disconnected during repair. I really think it will fix itself.
