2011 Hyundai sonata gls Grinding Noise loss of steering but not 100%

Asked by Christopher Oct 16, 2015 at 10:10 PM about the 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Son's 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS loss control last evening out of the blue,
thank God he was on a back road going very slow! Noise and grinding and
a little vibration as car moves forward and continues as car accelerates and
diminishes as car slows down, and is gone when car idols. Noise seems to
be all in front left drivers’ side tire area?  Also steering ability diminished like
the steering has loosened up very easy to turn tires but takes extra turns of
the steering wheel to physically turn tires but steering not gone completely.
There are no service lights etc..
Front and rear brakes replaced within the last year, with under 10K on
brakes max?
I know what loss of brakes and power steering not functioning feels like? I
do not believe this issue relates to either one? Car is now at Hyundai
awaiting diagnostics but would really like to understand what this is? Any
ideas, opinions would be most appreciated.

Thx
Chris

Its could be your wheel bearing failed if you feel vibration and grinding noise.
