Steering wheel shake?

Asked by Danimal89 Apr 23, 2016 at 01:00 AM about the 2010 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yesterday I replaced my front brake pads on my 2010 Subaru Impreza.  Today when I got on the highway i noticed that at about 60-65 mph my steering wheel starts shaking.  So I pulled off into a parking lot and tightened down the lugnuts a little bit more but it kept doing it on the way home.  This doesn't happen when applying the brakes and it does not pull to one side when I apply the brakes.  What should I try?

Usually at high speeds, if ur not applying the brakes, and it vibrates its the tires not balanced properly or something wrong with them. Did u switch the tires? This too can sometimes cause it. As a side question did u do tighten the bearings properly, with not to much play?
