2010 6-cylinder RAV 4 fuel efficiency

Asked by systemdude Dec 18, 2019 at 09:08 AM about the 2010 Toyota RAV4 Base V6 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2010 RAV 4 is getting about 15 miles to the gallon, or 6.7 kilometers to the
litre so far this fall/winter.

Should I be concerned? It has about 91000 miles on it.

What has is given you in the past? Is this a sudden change or has it been performing like this for a long time? Many possibilities exist but we need a little more history, please.

Many thanks. I started to notice it in the past 2 months. It is particularly noticeable in cold weather - I live in Canada.

Have a mechanic check it out. You should probably be getting fuel economy in the low 20 mpg range depending on what type of driving you do. If you idle the car a lot and only do city driving the 15 mpg may be all you can expect.
