Could it be my brakes

So I just purchased a used 2010 ford escape first vehicle.
Brakes squeak and it seems like when I put ac on its starts
to loose power rpms and then start to shake do I need new
breaks no check engine it had a self check the only thing is
it needs an oil change I was told it might be my brakes

Could be also that car has been lying up for a while. have you driven it a bit like 100 miles or so and they are still making noise. Again what kind of noise could be just pads / disks bedding it. Not sure about the AC thing
