Camry Engine siezed 2AZ

My camry engine siezed even following routine
service from toyota dealership. Dealership told me
that there is carbon type mix oil material on cam
shaft and may be oil filter got choked. What that
means? Can it be due to cheap quality toyota oil or
dealership service lacks? Odometer reading is
111,000.

NO oil light ON? I say Toyota Dealers do use GOOD quality oil and filters. 2AZ-FE engine should have a oil filter by-pass if the filter became clogged. I suggest you have the oil analyzed at a lab I do this to check for microns of metal (wear) and other trace elements this content indicates most oil types makes no difference in wear! as long as its changed. It will help identify the failure which is from a slow fail or the more common oil pump fail. 2AZ-FE 2.5 issue known for low oil pressure
Have you owned this car since new? If not perhaps the previous owner neglected it and it was full of sludge causing the oil pump to starve for oil. If the guts of the filter that they installed came apart and plugged up something then it is on them.

Thank you Auto_Centric and Bob for your interest. Bob, Odo reading was 80,000km when i owned this car and since then i am servicing it from this dealership. No signs of the filter came apart or plugged up. Auto_Centric, Right, oil pump got choked and a lot of sludge can be seen. Is it win-win situation for dealer as the oil is authentic by Toyota or is there any point which i can win over?

This engine is covered up to 150,000 miles. The ORIGINAL owner should have received a notice concerning "Excessive Oil Consumption". My guess is this vehicle ran out of oil which resulted in the engine seized. Google..".Toyota Excessive Oil Consumption" for details. As a SECOND owner...you will have some paper work to send in to Toyota including proof of ownership. Don't let Toyota talk you into a $5,000 repair. Toyota built it...they serviced it...they should step up to the plate and fix it. They did so with one of my best customers. Good Luck.

Hello Tony... Toyota Dealership overhauled the engine but the case is still open. They sent oil sludge material for lab test and sent technical report to Toyota corporation for further action. Point to ponder and the most probable cause can be due to high RPM speed which restricted Engine Oil circulation due to more than half of the oil strainer were closed. This happened with in no time as all Connecting Rod bearings got damaged but not crank shaft bearing, Cam shaft bearing and balancer bearing.
