Transmission fluid leak

Asked by magnolia62 Mar 19, 2019 at 07:26 PM about the 2005 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My husband just changed the fuel filter on my 2005 Ford Explorer Eddie
Bauer edition. Now it is leaking transmission fluid and will not go into reverse.
Did he damage something.

Thank you. We just cannot figure out why so much fluid would leak so fast. Any suggestions on what to check first. Thank you again

I suspect an all of a sudden bad transmission leak means, while under the car, a transmission line could have been damaged. Check the lines going to and from the radiator.
