Should I buy a used vehicle that has been discontinued?

Asked by GuruY94W5 Mar 19, 2018 at 01:00 PM about the 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class GLK 350 4MATIC

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

If a model is no longer being produced, would it be advisable to purchase a
used discontinued model vehicle? What effect does this have on maintenance
costs?

The parts are going to be available for many many years. Obviously being a used vehicle out of warranty will affect maintenance costs more than anything else, but you won't have any problems as far as parts go, and Mercedes dealers will continue servicing their vehicles long after they discontinue a model. Contact a local dealer and ask them directly about the model you're interested in, they may suggest a maintenance plan for it.
