Key fob batteries draining in 1 to 10 days

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The vehicles electronic system seems to shut down as I'm driving... No speedometer, odometer, signal lights, wipers, fuel guage, heater fan, window control. Dash only shows outside temperature, radio works. Then I stop and turn key to off and the key fob will not move in the ignition. I am stranded. I replace key fob batteries and everything works fine for a day, 3 days, 10 days, and then it happens again. Center display tells me to turn lights off but, lights are already off. Pull key out and must lock all doors manually. What would be causing the abnormal drain on my key fob batteries if this is the cause of what is wrong.

Thanks, I've thought that might be the case but, each of the three buttons seem to pop back to the normal undepressed height when tested. Could it be that there is a two way communication between the vehicle and the fob similar to that of some of the remote starter fobs, that could be draining the CR 2025 button batteries in the fob?
