Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 Ford explorer sport track with
approximately 140k and I just changed my fuel
pressure regulator, fuel pump and filter but for
some reason it's sucking gas like crazy and idling
at 500 rpm when it should be at about 8-900 rpm
idle and it like to spit and sputter sometimes and
when I fill the tank especially it starts dying and
cutting out. What should I do next. Coil, plugs,
injectors, wires???

1 Answer

Check the EVAP system for problems. The low idle might be from a bad IAC. It would not hurt to change the plugs but the coils don't need changing unless they go bad. When coils go bad you will have a miss and the check engine light will come on.
