have a overheating problem when idling for any length of time on a 08 nissan 350z convertable?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

is it possible it could be solved by simply filling the radiator with coolant instead of h2o.  it
had been left idling one time and and radiator was nearly dry and it was only refilled with
h2o.  could it be a simple fix?

Sounds like your radiator fan is not coming on .. or perhaps the sensor is defective. Does your car have 2 fans? One should be for AC ... if it does than make sure they are both working. That would make sense that now the weather is warming up you are using your AC

Tom is right. May I add never run straight un-diluted coolant. It must have at least 50% water. Matter of fact straight water is a better coolant than the antifreeze but has lubricants and anti-rust and corrosion protection your car needs.
