if I buy a Honda car with over 125,000 miles can I change the timing belt still and get more years out of the car?

Yes. Just changing the timing belt will not necessarily extend the life of the rest of the parts but if it breaks it tends to break the rest of the engine.

Absolutely, at 125,000 miles you're due. If you change it now you'll most likely be avoiding a disaster in the near future. Hope that helps! Jim
