When the car stops, it won't go again.

Asked by palmbreeze Oct 22, 2016 at 08:16 PM about the 2008 Ford Edge Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 08 Edge Limited with 102,000 miles on it. About every two weeks for a total of maybe six times this happens.

Engine light comes on.
When you come to a stop, and then press the pedal to go...the car doesn't go.
The engine revs, the RPMs go up....but the car doesn't budge.
Turn car off, restart, problem goes away and the engine light goes off.

Any ideas?

If check engine light is coming you need to take your vehicle to a auto parts store like auto zone and have them scan the vehicle for codes that will let you know why your vehicle is doing what it is doing and what you need to do to fix it.
