What weight oil do you use and how many miles on the engine? Are the spark plugs fouled with oil? Whatever the cause, don't let it get that low on oil or you may ruin your engine. Check it more often and never let it get more than one quart low.

A quart in 2,000 miles may not cause blue smoke but a worn engine is the most likely cause.
