California Environmental/Air Quality Regulations - buying same car in another state

Asked by GuruBH8TV Jan 03, 2019 at 01:04 PM about the 2008 Subaru Forester 2.5 X

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

Hi, I'm thinking about buying a 2008 Subaru Forester in Texas and driving it back to California where I live. The question is about Environmental/air quality requirements for cars in California versus those sold in other states. If I buy a car in Texas could I face a problem with trying to smog the car later in California? Or do all cars of the same make have the same cat converter etc. ?

Thanks, David
