Engine reduced power indicator on dash

Reduced engine power indicator comes on loss of
power and sounds like my car isn't hitting on all 8
cylinders.  Doesn't make sense cause car has ran
fine before beside the battery post not making a
complete connection.. please help

How power means it has a potentially serious problem that needs immediate attention. It makes perfect sense to me. It's a machine, and from time to time machines break. First step is to scan it for trouble codes and then probably get a professional diagnosis as to what needs to be repaired.
