First thing to look for is a vacuum leak. That will cause the high idle. Also, unplug the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve for testing purposes. The check engine light will come on, ignore it. If you now have a very low idle the problem is with the IAC or the wiring going to it. Hope that helps! Jim

My 1994 Nissan Altima down shifts after it hits 65 mph. It seems to think it is loosing power and down shifts and goes from 2500 rpms to 3500 rpms. Any ideas why?
