Oil pressure problems

Asked by Adam May 29, 2016 at 10:17 PM about the 2007 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Dodge 1500 5.7. Check engine light
came on and went to have it read and it is showing
oil pressure problem. I changed the oil and filter
and now I need to have the code cleared. Could it
be the oil pressure sensor or the oil pump itself? I
have 167000 on the truck.

The oil dip stick tube probably needs to be replaced. I have 03 1500 and the tube was loose. The problems I was getting surges in idling, engine light ( code was gas cap). Then I purchased a dip stick tube at Amazon 15 bucks had it replaced no problems.
