How do I fix my headlights and dashboard from flashing on and off? Why does only one out of three rear brake lights work?

Asked by Britts Nov 18, 2014 at 10:40 PM about the 2006 Dodge Magnum SXT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The lights will flicker on and off when starting the car, when this happens the inside
dashboard will flicker also. Sometimes when I turn my lights off they turn on and when
I turn them on they turn off. It also idles strange sometimes. They flicker sometimes
when the lights are turned off and the car is just parked. The top brake light is the only
one that works when I step on the brake. However all the lights work when turned on. I
have gotten new bulbs, a new brake switch and checked the fuses.

if it jas the hatchback with the hydraulic struts check the sleeves around them. my cars back wiper 3rd light and defrost dont work with the hatch up because there are copper connections in the ends of those sleeves. you have to shut it to makebthem connect. i had the wires get pinched in them once and ground out. it took me 3 days to figure out why my lights wouldnt work and i kept popping a fuse.lol. just sayin.
