is it hard to replace transmission front seal on 2003 ford explorer v6 automatic

Depends on your definition of 'hard' ...if you have all the proper tools, a transmission jack, etc. it's not 'hard' It becomes difficult when you have never done it before, it's one of those jobs that the first time you do it might take all day, second time 2 hours.

As long as the seal needs replacement, it is probably a good time to drop the pan and service the transmission.
