According to the S Code Registry, 2,537 1968 Mustang Coupes were built with the S-code 390 engine. Sorry, but I can't find transmission info.

He's known as the guru of Mustangs and he can provide you a report specific to your car based on actual information provided by the Ford Motor Company, including production numbers and exactly how many cars were built exactly like yours. I have one for mine, it's a fantastic document.
