Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when I run my 1987 5.0L and shut it off it wont start and stay running unless I wait almost a full day. the car turns over, fires right up then bogs right down. wont even idle for a second. what would cause this? (I have new plugs, wires, cap and rotor and cleaned out the throttle body and idle control valve)

Do you have a anti theft device installed on the oil mustang? Coz it sounds like that could be what's going on.

it will start no problem after it hasn't ran a day or so

The ignition switch im guessing is original. But car is fireing right up no problem but then dies right out. Could that be the ignition switch?
