I have a 1988 mustang gt. I was driving on the freeway and the engine died like it was getting no spark. I pulled off the road, turned the key all the way off and started the car again. It started right up and ran fine after that. It does this every now and then. What do you think this could be?

I'll check the cables, the car runs great...allot of fun. Ill have to see if I can locate one of these scanners, I'll look it up on the internet. Thanks for the feedback.

I would check the battery cables, first, then the alternator, just start the car and then remove the negative cable, if the car still runs, then the alternator is working fine.....hope this helps
