Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 ford expedition el. We were having
issues with the pedal going soft all the way to the
floor with NO brakes. Sometimes with having it
come back to normal after that or pumping them a
few times. We have just changed the master
cylinder and the hydraulic control until. We have
had the brakes bled 3 times and the parts
reprogrammed to the engine. After doing all of this
we still are having issues with the pedal going soft
to the floor with not braking...any ideas?

You did bench bleed the master cylinder before putting it on, right?

The hydraulic control unit you replaced, is that the ABS system?

Assuming you're not losing fluid, your front brake lines may need replaced.

What was reprogrammed, the ABS? What was done because the ABS unit can only be bled by a scanner capable of running a program to operate the pistons (move them) in-order for it to be bled. Just normal bleeding will not bleed out the ABS unit.
